About the Journal
A Companion to Digital Editing Methods offers an online platform for knowledge exchange in the fields of (digital) scholarly editing and historical source publications. Having a strong methodological focus, the contributions will be relevant to scholars from various disciplines and thus promote knowledge exchange. The Companion offers different types of publication: thematic essays, interactive tutorials, and peer dialogues in which two or more scholars discuss a (proposed) methodology, a (new) theme, or a challenge within their field. Accordingly, the Companion sets out to be both an interdisciplinary reference work and a research environment that is relevant for everyone who wants to study and edit textual sources using digital methods.
The primary readership of the Companion consists of scholars and students in the fields of history, scholarly editing, textual scholarship, library and information science, and book history. In short, everyone who studies and interacts with historical and literary documents using digital methods. The different types of contribution formats ensure that the journal is both a learning environment and a platform for knowledge exchange.
